I have been doing this off and on for about 30 years. I can restore your car....either get one running that has been in a barn for years,or full restorations. I am in the process of building a new shop and hopefully have it by the end of the year. I love 1920s and 1930s cars but can work and all years up to about 1970 where I prefer to stop.

You've gotta show up. This will be a great year! We have over 50 booths in the trade fair, some classic Cars for those who like gas fed horse power, many wonderful wines to wet your whistle and of course the Exellent Equestrian Exhibition! Tell a friend.

Meet the Fellows: Introducing David Kaplan, piano!
Q: If you could have any job in the world besides professional musician, what would it be and why?
A: A career in music is so much a labor of love that I sometimes say, if you could possibly bring yourself to do something else, you shouldn't do music at all. However, everyone has second loves. For me, it's classic cars.
Since I was a little kid, I couldn't get enough of learning about them. So I think that if something happened to prevent me from being a pianist, I would work restoring old automobiles. My favorites are English cars from the 50s and 60s, like the 1949 Jaguar XK 120, the MGA, and the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. I also have a weakness for the 1960s Lincoln Continental, which is a giant, opulent convertible, with back doors that are hinged from the rear... sometimes called suicide doors.
Q: Tell us about a particular instrument you especially like to play on stage.
A: Pianists usually have the pleasure and challenge of experiencing a different instrument every time they play... Adjusting is just part of the job. Richter once said that he played some of the worst concerts on his life on the best pianos, and the best concerts on the worst pianos! Inevitably some very special pianos stay in our memory, though we may only meet them once.
I can think of two... one was an enormous Fazioli in Denmark that was 10 feet long (one whole foot longer than the biggest Steinway), and had a beautiful warm sound that could reach the back of any hall. It had been signed by many great artists who had played it in the past, including Emanuel Ax and Vlademir Ashkenazy. I did not presume to add my own name in permanent marker... The other was a breathtaking New York Steinway that was camping out for a summer at Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood. It was a bit worn in, and so it had a very magical balance of shimmer and warmth. I will never forget its sound: a bass like a vintage Ferrari, a middle like the Chicago Symphony's horns, and a treble like a choir.
